Well, I believe they're getting ready to put the brakes on. The Republican congress is starting to make some noises.

I certainly hope so. They *should've* done that when we got the White House & both chambers, but it didn't happen.

I have to say I hope they do. I wish I could tell you with a surety I would be repeating my vote in 2004 for a straight Republican ticket but I can't. I remember as a child hearing my elders tell me they voted for the man and not the party. I also remember I thought that to be the worst possible thing I had ever heard. I just couldn't understand that. My family is probably the most conservative bunch I know. I thought good conservative citizens of the respective states voted Republican and that was that.

Looking back on it though and looking at the intent of the men who founded this nation, I can see no other way to vote now. I will vote for the most conservative candidate on the ballot in every election. In local elections here in NC, it is still possible the conservative candidate could be a Democrat, however on the national front within my lifetime it has been a Republican. I can't bring myself to vote Libertarian, as they have a few issues on their platform with which I know I could never agree. However it will be the conservative candidate whoever that may be
