To: OrthodoxPresbyterian ~~ At least that post had some substance to it.A Debater leads with his Catchy Headline (to provoke Argument), and then drives the point home with his Quantitative Evidence (to Win the Argument).
Thus is how we are trained.

Notice when the argument fails, accusations of illiteracy , stupidity, poor schooling ,Bible thumping appear. The last resort is socialist, commie, Nazi,or fascist. He has Texas envy.

Then your " training " is failing you; constantly.

Define "principles" beyond one individual's subjective lines in the sand. This interrogative, and its explicit revelation that you do not comprehend fundamental moral absolutes (which are the basis for principles) explains every post I have ever seen of yours.

Will Bush solve the government spending problem? Probably not. But neither will Kerry, Edwards, Dean, Clark or Hillary. Chances are, they'd make it worse. Probably far worse.But...but...but...IT'S MAKING ME CRAZY!

Then it is time to close the deal with meaningful proposals to stop the "fiscal insanity". When I say meaningful I mean in the realm of possibility in the context of an American electorate that views every spending increase as too little.
To: ArneFufkin
Your. You're. I DO know the difference. How bad is THAT?
OOOOF beating the crap out of that punk. That'll happen!

In my experience, one's date will dance with you more if you make yourself an interesting and engaged partner, not by behaving shrewishly or like a jerk.
Zing... excellent point :-)
In PA only 82% of conservatives voted for Bush. He lost the state to Gore by 200,000 votes out of 5 million.
The conservatives in this state didn't even wait for the music to start before we began acting fickle.

Oh yes, the 400 billion number is spend over 10 years. But yes, Bush is spending too much money. The issue is whether he is doing it to throw some red meat to the wolves, which if they catch him, and devour him, will then devour us all. Tricky issue.

Your posted link emphasized his conservatism - part of conservatism has been that government should mind it's own bloody business in social/moralism issues. That's an area for individuals and churches.

Define absolute "Moral imperitives" in relation to politics.
To: cyborg
Correct;sadly.
To: Lazamataz
You are right to ask me that question. I am, in fact, wrong. It's going up 33%. Bush Is Said to Seek More Money for Arts [$15 million to $20 million for NEA] Yet we are funding the NEA 33% less than we were under Reagan -- speaking of things 33%, as you were.
To: Tamsey
This passes my WWHH? test...What Would Hillary Hate? (d-lady) Oh, my... that's an excellent bit of litmus you have there! (Tam)
Wish I could claim the concept as my own.
The WWHH is mine, but the idea emerged during the recall days from a brilliant friend much wiser than I ;-)
