The US on Thursday condemned the Palestinian suicide bombing in Jerusalem that killed 10 and wounded dozens and urged Palestinian Prime Minister Abu Ala to deal with terrorist activity.
"We condemn it thoroughly," Secretary of State Colin Powell said after meeting Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul. "Once again, terrorists have killed innocent people and at the same time they have struck a blow, once more, against the aspirations of the Palestinian people to have a homeland of their own."
"This kind of action has got to stop. And I once again implore the Palestinian leaders, and especially Prime Minister Abu Ala, to do everything in his power, everything in their power, to ostracize these terrorists, to go after them, and to deal with this terrorist activity, because as long as it continues, the hope of both peoples, Israelis and Palestinians, for peace will constantly be dashed," Powell added.
"And so I condemn the action of these terrorist organizations and these horrible people who would do this on a civilian bus in the middle of the day."
The White House issued a similar condemnation through its spokesman.
Powell spoke with Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom to convey US condolences. He said US officials told Abu Ala that statements are inadequate, and that the Palestinians should fulfill their commitments in the areas of security and reform, an Israeli government statement said.
The bomber in Jerusalem struck as US envoys John Wolf and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs John Wolf were in the region on a rare visit attempting to revive the dormant US road map for peace, a plan that outlines steps for the creation of a Palestinian state by next year.
Powell said that goal could not be achieved if terrorist activity continued.
"The longer time goes by without progress because the parties can't get moving because of this terrorist activity, the more difficult it will be to achieve the goals laid out in the road map with respect to a timetable," Powell said.
Skepticism about prospects for progress in negotiations coupled with the Administration's focus on the situation in Iraq have kept US negotiation efforts at a minimal level.

"We condemn it thoroughly," Secretary of State Colin Powell said after meeting Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul. "Once again, terrorists have killed innocent people and at the same time they have struck a blow, once more, against the aspirations of the Palestinian people to have a homeland of their own." You are incorrect. These are the aspirations of most of the PLO society which supports terrorism.
"This kind of action has got to stop. And I once again implore the Palestinian leaders,
You mean those leaders heading the Palestinian Authority terrorist regime? This is just like asking the Taliban to crack down on Al Queda.
and especially Prime Minister Abu Ala, to do everything in his power, everything in their power, to ostracize these terrorists, to go after them, and to deal with this terrorist activity,
All those in power are terrorists. The PA is a terrorist regime. This is what they do, harbor, and teach in their school.
Abu Ala: Not So Moderate [will this be reported
From PLO Terrorist to Lover of Zion [includes short film, MUST SEE]
PA official: We will fight Israel by all means [including terrorism that kills Israeli children]
Senior PA Official Says Violence Against Israel Is "Legitimate Resistance," Not Terrorism
because as long as it continues, the hope of both peoples, Israelis and Palestinians, for peace will constantly be dashed," Powell added.
"Palestinians" do not want peace. Most of them support destruction of Israel.
"And so I condemn the action of these terrorist
And so nothing....You are condeming the action of these terrorists by calling upon the terrorists to crack down on themselves.

Most American's can't understand that the Palestinians don't want Peace, they want the Jews dead & gone. Once we come to that understanding, the quicker we can tell the Israeli's to go ahead and do what they have to do. Meet violence with violence and destroy their enemies.

This kind of action has got to stop. And I once again implore the Palestinian Al Quaida leaders, and especially Prime Minister Abu Ala Osama bin Laden, to do everything in his power, everything in their power, to ostracize these terrorists, to go after them, and to deal with this terrorist activity
I condemn the action of these terrorist organizations and these horrible people who would do this on a civilian bus airplane in the middle of the day morning."

Technically speaking, there is little difference in our response to terrorism against ourselves and the pressure we're putting on Israel. "Restraint" is the watchword in both cases. And the results will be the same in America as they have been in Israel. Right here in America we will have more shrieks of anguish, more agony, more sacrifice. All in the name of tolerance. Mark my words.

More horseshit from Colon Powell and the State Dept. no doubt!

"Restraint" is the watchword in both cases. Restraint in the sense that we refuse to recognize the nature of our enemy, you're right, though blindness might be more fitting.

Do I need to remind anyone that it was Colon Powell and the State Dept. that led us down the WMD road to justify the Liberation of Iraq. The hawks, rightly so, wanted to go based on the war on terrorism and the violation of many UN Resolutions by Iraq. Here's praying for a hawk that will clean out the cesspool that is the State Dept. during the second Bush term.

Then we must prepare for more of this.

I was gonna pass on this article but I can not.Powell, you ignorant slut. How dare you ask the Israelis not to go after the terrorist, how dare you to ask the israelis not to preserve their own people. If you haven't heard, they want all Israelis dead, just like Americans, they want us dead. Time for Bush to take out the trash.

I'm ready to just give up on Israel. This travesty of an exchange just sickens me. Uber-appeasement.
Then again, I'm already fed up with Bush and Co re: Pakistan and Osama.
And I just keep getting more an more militant about it.

Until we decide to start blowing the hell out of the populations that produce these maggots, it will continue. All terrorism will continue.
Until they admit that it is more than a terrorist war, it's a clash of civilizations then we will just lose more people to terrorist attacks. We did not beat the germans and japanese by "targeted law enforcement activities" or "special operations raids" we beat them by killing thier citizens en masse along with thier soldiers and destroying thier cities, we pummeled thier entire societies into submission.
Nothing short of total war will make us even remotely safe.
Iraq was a problem, and we dealth with it. But Pakistan, Iran, North Korea, France, and Syria are our true enemies.
Any muslim state is our true enemy. We just don't GET IT.
