[history]
Today's lull in the presidential campaign affords us an opportunity to look at the latest developments in the weird postwar debate over Iraq, in which certain American and British politicians and journalists, for reasons of partisanship, ideology or self-aggrandizement, have for months been trying to transform victory over Saddam Hussein into defeat for America and its allies.

Jan. 22, 1991: "Thank you for contacting me to express your opposition . . . to the early use of military force by the US against Iraq. I share your concerns. There was so much in this today, I am really glad that you posted. The only problem is that I don't know where to begin.
The Kerry shuffle looks like a good place. I think that we need to do a web site entitled that, The Kerry Shuffle. We could use a dancing Kerry, like the one on the Dancing Hillary web site. Then with each shift of the dance steps we could give shifting positions in different issues.
But the real biggy on the Best of the Web was the link to Memri and the list of Saddam's bribees. The most notable of course being Jimmy Carter.
Thanks again for posting this.
