Too bad everyone watching that kind of crap isn't an adult.

People should keep a closer eye on what their kids are doing, then. The world is no kid-proof.

Because he wants to state his opinion. Got a problem with that?

Not at all. I just can see the irony of someone coming onto a thread to post "this thread is sick."

Ask and ye shall receive: (from TV Predictions:)
Adult HDTV Comes to DIRECTV

The satellite TV service will launch a weekend block of high-def adult movies following the Super Bowl, TVPredictions.com has learned.
By Phillip Swann

Washington, D.C. (Jan. 27) -- Not sure how to end your Super Bowl soiree this Sunday night? Well, DIRECTV may have an interesting party idea for owners of High-Definition TVs.

Shortly after the game, the satellite TV service will kick off its first offering of adult movies in HDTV, TVPredictions.com has learned. The films, which will come from Playboy and the Spice channel, will be available on DIRECTV's Pay-Per-View channel from midnight to 6 a.m. ET.

Following Super Bowl Sunday, DIRECTV's adult HDTV lineup will air every Thursday through Sunday from midnight to 6 a.m. ET. Robert Mercer, a DIRECTV spokesman, said the adult fare will be sold in three hour blocks for $14.99 per block.

This could be the first launch of adult HDTV in the United States. Cablevision's VOOM satellite TV service has announced that it will carry the Spice HD channel, but has yet to reveal a launch date.

Many industry experts have speculated that HDTV could be a new revenue driver for the adult industry. The format's incredible picture is so life-like that it's been compared to looking through a window, which could heighten the sensation of watching an adult film.

However, Playboy TV president Jim English sounded a note of caution last summer when asked if adult films would fare well on HDTV.

"A lot of the girls are not that pretty. You can only do so much with hair and make-up," English said in an interview with TVPredictions.com. "HDTV is perfect for National Geographic and the National Football League where you don't expect people to be pretty. But adult films are all about the close-up. With surgeries and implants, I don't know if you want to see everything in HDTV."

It was the 'dying insane' Nietzsche that prompted my reply to the poster that sounded overly depressed about the current state of the world.

I like Nietzsche. But I always have to go for a walk in the sunshine after a Nietzsche read ...

Personally, I came to this site hoping to hear an outcry concerning the proliferation of pornography in the mainstream...I was sadly disappointed. It is not available only for those who seek it out, it is shoved in the face of ALL; in supermarkets, on billboards, Internet pop-ups and television. I am a young married woman and am so discouraged by those in my age group especially, as well as those of you who really think that casual sex with multiple partners is entertainment rather than a sin.

Turns out Jeremy is a classically trained pianist with a master's degree in teaching special education, and also a former teacher. He's probably the smartest person there.

He obviously gets off on doing porn. Why else would he squander his talent and educational background in this slimeball industry?

I'll grant you the internet pop-ups, but you only get those if you go on adult sites. They don't come out of nowhere. As for the rest, I can't really think of any example where actual pornography appears in supermarkets, billboards or television (at least, not regular television).

Do you mean sex with multiple partners at once? Very few of us have actually engaged in that, I would wager. If you mean seeing it on video? That might be a sin, I suppose, if you believe in that sort of thing.

Welcome to FR. There are many here whose morals have not been subsumed to the death spiral of pop culture. Just not too many on this particular thread.

"I'll grant you the internet pop-ups, but you only get those if you go on adult sites."

I beg to differ. They pop up out of the blue, not only on my computer, but I have seen them come out of nowhere on my husband's work computer, where they are supposed to be filtered.

"Do you mean sex with multiple partners at once?"

Perhaps, but not necessarily. Porn stars have casual sex with dozens if not hundreds of partners.

"As for the rest, I can't really think of any example where actual pornography appears in supermarkets..."

I live on a military post, where porn mags are rampant, and are not often covered up. Perhaps nipples and vaginas aren't shown, but it is definitely porn, definitely offensive, and definitely shoved in my face by businesses that endorse/ sell it.

Strange. Do you have anti-spyware software? If not, you should get some.

Perhaps, but not necessarily. Porn stars have casual sex with dozens if not hundreds of partners.

I thought you were saying that people these days engage in sex with multiple partners as entertainment. My mistake. Only the lucky few do that :-)
