Well, following the logic of many here, having Grassley in the Senate is better than having a "Liberal" in the Senate. After all, a Liberal Senator might have spent $55 million rainforest education in Iowa, which would be a waste.
But, on the other hand, the $50 million might buy enough votes to keep Grassley in office, allowing Republicans to maintain control of the Senate. Hoorah!

So when Republicans spend cash on useless pork-barrel projects in an attempt to use your money to buy votes, it's OK, but not when Democrats do it? Doesn't sound very conservative to me.

"Where once they gave their loyalty and allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and even the Bible, they now swear loyalty and allegiance to G. W. Bush and the Republican Party."I think these conservatives are so deliriously happy to have a Republican president and Congress in their lifetime, they've adopted the adage: "My party, right or wrong".

There is only one who unquestioned loyalty and obediance is due.
To the best of my Knowledge, GW never hung on a Cross outside of Jerusalem so it ain't him.
My unquestioned Loyalty and Obediance is due only to God.
GW had my vote once, if he wants it again he's going to have to earn it back. His Leftist Socialist Big Government spending sprees have capped it for me. oh.. along with the AWB, Pills for Pops and the Amnesty plan.. none of those helped either.

But, on the other hand, the $50 million might buy enough votes to keep Grassley in office, allowing Republicans to maintain control of the Senate. Hoorah!I don't share your enthusiasm, sorry (unless your being sarcastic, which I have been known to miss).
If Grassley needs a $50 million rainforest education center to stay in office, then Iowa Republicans need to find a better candidate. He's no better than a liberal blowing our money to buy votes.

I do believe, however, that "W" makes his decisions on what he truly believes is right. Clinton, on the other hand, governed based upon polls. So Bush thinks a brand new entitlement for seniors is the right thing to do? He didn't have any conversation with Karl Rove about the popularity in Florida of the giveaway to old folks? No polls were consulted?
Pardon me if I'm a tad skeptical about that.

Not trying to change your mind. I do not understand your statement regarding "conservative Christian".
What exactly does it mean to be a "conservative Christian" to you?

Sorry, guys. I did forget the sarcasm tag. It's just disgraceful that the Republican Party's alternative to Socialism is not fiscal conservatism, but rather Socialism Light.
I just looked up the definition of "screwed" in the dictionary:
"When both the Democrat and Republican Parties view the National Treasury as their own personal slush fund to use to buy votes."

Sorry, I also missed the sarcasm, probably because you will find people here who do actually believe what you said.
