Kwitcherbellyakin.

Did you happen to notice the number of posters you annoyed? One can only wonder why you would enjoy irritating people on a forum you frequent.

"Senator Lieberman, the only unabashedly pro-war Democrat on the ballot, had been claiming at every campaign stop for the last week to have something called ‘Joe-mentum’, which is like ‘momentum’, but apparently much smaller, if not entirely undetectable."

Thanks, I needed some comic relief.

Howard Dean will have a job again in America. It won’t be President of the United States. But there’s no reason why he couldn’t be a spokesperson for Ben & Jerry’s premium Vermont ice cream, perhaps dressed up as a Holstein in the late stages of BSE. (‘I scream for ice cream. And you will, too.’)

Badaboom! That one cost me a keyboard!

Ignore the threads I start — pretend they don't exist — and you won't be annoyed anymore.

But her husband has 57 varieties of his position on Iraq, and Democratic voters seem to have figured that one or other of them is likely to be more politically viable than Dean’s.

Best line

Go read the Free Republic terms-of-use agreement carefully

Sure. Here it is, posted for your enlightenment...

Copyrights: "Fair Use" doctrine cited. All posts are copyright original owner or posting user and are posted here under the "fair use" rules for educational and discussion purposes only and are not to be used for commercial purposes. Posting user agrees to indemnify Free Republic for any copyright claim on original works.

Important Legal Notice:
LAT/WP vs Free Republic Settles

Free Republic has settled the alleged copyright infringement suit brought by The Los Angeles Times and The Washington Post and has agreed not to post full text articles from their publications or any of their related subsidiaries and affiliates. Please do not post full text from these sources.

Any full text articles from LAT or WP or subsidiaries or affiliates will be deleted in compliance with this settlement. Click to see a copy of the Amended Final Judgment in this case.

So, what are you violating by posting the entire article from an open source?

Especially when the full text includes a hyperlink to the original source...

In my estimation, Free Republic is not entitled to the fair-use exemption: Ipso facto copyrighted material posted in toto is copyright infringment, and therefore actionable.

And here's the part of the terms-of-use agreement that you should have highlighted in red: "Posting user agrees to indemnify Free Republic for any copyright claim on original works."

Also the brilliance of FR's software is that if you TRY to post a WP (or Newsweek) article, the software tells you that it must be excerpted. Also, if youy try to post something from Counterpunch or some like minded source, the software tells you that anything from that particular source is not welcome on FreeRepublic.

In other words, a 3 year old can figure out what needs to be excerpted and what doesn't.

I repeat, if you don't like the way I post stuff then ignore my threads — don't go there.

The concept is so simple that even a child should be able to grasp it.

If you continue to allow yourself to get so upset you're liable to have a stroke, die all tensed up and leave a really bad-looking corpse for the moirtician to deal with.

"However, if the Duke manipulated his sister into a relationship with the king, with his own political future in mind, then he would be on par with Kerry...because then he would be pro-actively using the girl for his own gain."

Well, he was quite young at that time, but he was introduced to court on the basis of the relationship.

He also had an affair with another mistress of James II and got preferment that way.

This was hardly uncommon at the time of course. Any number of French statesmen had to deal with mistresses of Louis XIV.
