I have a hard time understanding why it is such a great sin, in your eyes, that Alan doesn't have to bear the burdens that those who are in office must bear. He can hardly help that, can he, since he is not in office?

You said that those not in the arena shouldn't criticize those that were, and I said that went for Dr. Keyes as well. I don't think that's accusing him of "a great sin".

He probably could be in office, if he'd run for an office he had a chance of winning. So far, as you've said yourself, he hasn't done so.

And then you criticize him because everyone doesn't know who he is?

I wasn't criticizing him, I was stating a fact.

Look, EV, if I say I am short, fat, and old, that's not criticism, it's the truth.

But the fact is, when you put yourself out there in the political wars, it doesn't matter who you are. Some people just aren't going to like you. That's life.

True, and you shouldn't take it so personally when it happens to Alan Keyes.

Short? Fat? Old? That's three separate falsehoods in one short sentence, young lady!!! Do you have no regard for your credibility??

I know the truth!! ;-)

It isn't just personal. There are precious few leaders out there doing the things that need to be done to drive the conservative agenda. And there are none who are any better at it than Alan Keyes.

As to the other stuff, you are entitled to your opinion. But the failure of an uncompromising conservative leader to win office in Maryland is hardly grounds for crucifixion.
