wouldn't it be sweet if we built the first space elevator on the moon, where it can be shorter and used that to get material to a lunar orbit or L1 shipyard and make space colonies and mars ships, and counterweights for earth based space elevators?

oh wait, the moon spins around like once every 2 weeks right? hm, that means it would probably need an even longer space elevator than earth, which is spinning a lot faster.
