Once elected, a person becomes the President of the United States.

The President does not represent only Republicans or Democrats, but must move into a much more important job.

His one and only job, and that is to represent ALL citizens of the United States of America.

When a President is doing his job properly, he will upset members of all political parties.

This is why people like Howard Dean have proved that they are not be qualified for the job of President. They are not willing, or simply unable, to represent all of the citizens in our great country.

You're right, people who make a living, at our expense, off urinating on a cross deserve representation too.

Okay then so here's the score:
Bush has scored 6 for the LIberals and 2 for conservatives.
If Bush represents all Americans as Prez since when do liberals outnumber conservatives 6 to 2?

Nice try, but this is the actual oath - you know, the one where he put his hand on the bible and swore to:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.

And I see not one damn thing about giving more money to artists who can't support themselves in the constitution.

So, he has to increase spending at the greatest rate since Lyndon Johnson and run up huge deficits to represent all Americans? Isn't that what Clinton tried to do.

Great Presidents are principled and lead. They don't stick their finger in the air, lick and find out which way the wind is blowing.

His job is to represent ALL citizens of the US. Wrong Answer

Read the constitution again, and come up with a job description that fits the one codified by the founders. I think it is to execute the laws, and defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, but then again, I could just be an old fuddie duddie.

His job is to support policy that is best for the citizens of the U.S. "Representation" of all citizens does not mean that he should throw political bones to each group like some lapdog. He is a leader. Democrats are as well represented by the passing of laws consistent with limited government as Republicans are, they just don't know it.
