Governments thoughout history have funded patriotic art and memorials. I would prefer that this government be an exception to the rule of history. There has never been a nation like this before. But the statists among us are determined to send us down the same road as every other empire in history. This NEA crap is just a symptom of a lingering disease.
And if it's gonna be used for pro American propaganda, how are they going to convince all the radical leftist 'artists' who are currently sucking off the teat to either dislodge their lips or change their political outlook for the good of the country?

Why, we'll fund different artists.
After all- Robert Mapplethorpe seems to have found his own audience perfectly well. The artists who, presumably have the most problems are conservative ones.
It won't be presnted this way, of course- but the NEA board can be stacked with conservatives.
