I disagree - there are a lot of programs that could be completely eliminated like HUD, Department of Education, PBS and on and on.
And you could also cut billions by laying off some goverment workers.
What we really need is bigger margins in the Senate to get those things done.
But the Goverment can be shrunk by a lot - we just need more GOP senators.

there are a lot of programs that could be completely eliminated like HUD, Department of Education, PBS and on and on. Of course. But there will never be a president willing to do it, in my opinion. The more years go by, the chance for that and the cut of goverment size is close to zero. Both parties will not do it.

we just need more GOP senators. More GOP senators would mean GOP candidates beating leftwing senators....and how do you think they will be able to beat those leftwingers? By having to adopt policies to get leftist constituents to vote for them...

We need conservative GOP senators, there are too many RINOs (Specter, McCain, yada yada yada). On domestic issues, Bush acts like one far too often these days.
