As some of you might recall, Ken Burns' film The Civil War was partially funded by the NEA and it, IMHO, is the one piece of patriotic filmmaking of recent years which will be long-remembered.

There are dozens of films on the Civil War. And tons of books. Already paid for. It's called the public library. Enough is enough.

Burns' "Civil War" was faithful to history and a thoroughly worthwhile project, but was it patriotic per se? I guess compared to the other "artistic" outrages funded by EFTA is was.
