The Beneficiaries of Saddam's Oil Vouchers: The List of 270
The Beneficiaries of Saddam's Oil Vouchers ^

The following report from MEMRI's Baghdad office is a translation of an article which appeared in the Iraqi daily Al-Mada,(1) which obtained lists of 270 companies, organizations, and individuals awarded allocations (vouchers) of crude oil by Saddam Hussein's regime. The beneficiaries reside in 50 countries: 16 Arab, 17 European, 9 Asian, and the rest from sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. Only a portion of the 270 recipients are listed and identified.

Yeah, two-thirds of the historical markers in the Columbia area end with "...burned by Union troops on February 17, 1865." Getting Savannah for a Christmas present wasn't enough for Bill the Arsonist, ohhh noooooooo...
Interesting story to go along with that--the church where the South Carolina Convention of Secession first convened in December 1860, First Baptist, was one of Sherman's targets. The legend goes that a slave was outside, and when asked where First Baptist Church was, pointed the Union troops to another church down the street. That might be apocryphal, but that chapel did not burn, and still stands next to the big new FBC chapel, a block from where I work. :)
They leveled over half the town...oh well. War is hell.

I wonder if MEMRI had a typo in that Russia 1,366,000,000 Barrels number?
But the Syrian pipeline (which was one method of smuggling oil, certainly, and was not monitored in the oil-for-food program) would have yielded no more than 80-100 Million barrels annually.

Yugoslav political parties received vouchers: the Yugoslav Left party received 9.5 million barrels. The Socialist Party received 1 million barrels.Well, well, well; birds of a feather, flock together. The Yugo Socialist Party is run by Slobo himself, and the Yugo Left Party is run by Mrs. Milosevic. Figuring an advanced socialist state like the former Yugoslavia must surely have had some type of community property laws, the Milosevic family was the recipient of 10.5 million barrels of Saddam's largesse.

So!!!! John Kerry accepts a $1,000.00 donation from this guy, AMIR AL-KHAFAJI, (A Saddam Sympathizer) while our troops are marching toward Baghdad and in harms way..... HOW SPECIAL!
I wonder how fast that slobbering liberal Chrissy Matthews will take to do an in depth report on John Kerry as he has been doing on Vice President Cheney?

Or maybe this really is BS. Further investigation is obviously needed. But these numbers are so utterly gigantic that I've got to be skeptical until more information comes out. I don't know the total period of time these transactions took place, but if you are producing over 2 million bbls a day, the numbers are not that unrealistic.

Could be that we have a nexus of AlQaida, Iraqi intelligence and Democratic party operatives in South Florida. The Boehner/Gingrich conversation was taped in Fort White Florida, in the northern part of the state not too far south of Tallahassee, where Boehner was vacationing.
