It is inconcievable to me that a letter written as an inquirey to the possibility of a plea bargain could be considered a public document that must be released to the public. Or that this law trumps the FL constitution's privicy statutes.

Yes, it sounds like a bar complaint might be in order. In addition, since they say correspondence concerning plea negotiations are now covered by the open records laws, perhaps a FOIA request should be made for all correspondece concerning other defendants.

Sadly, The FL Bar is not interested in ethics violations of this nature...the only ones they do go after have to do with misappropriation of funds.
