Inhofe

In conversations we had a year ago we discussed how there "were" WMDS.

Asks Kay why Saddam did not come forth with evidence that he had destroyed weapons if he indeed did so.

Kay says they've struggled and speculates he did not want to come forth to western world and admit it and look week to Arab neighbors.

This has come to spliting "hairs", and is not really about what went down. This is politics at its dirties.

Kay simply is saying that the UN and all its pronouncements back to Clinton were wrong that Saddam had stockpiles of weapons.

NOT saying that Saddam was not in violation of all those resolutions against him, just did not have what was claimed and believed.

They don't want to "go back." They want to START with Bush.

I'm very interested in seeing what Hillary has to say today.

Loftus is predicting a Libya style "mea culpa, we surrender, here is the stuff" from Syria.

I hate this blane game by the dems. We need to acknowledge that our intelligence agencies need a free hand in dealing with foreign threats. The CIA big mistake in the 70's was that they were used against our own citizens. But instead of dealing with that detail, the dems just brought the whole house down. Now look at what happen since Iran, the fall of Communism, 9/11, and countless other bad calls. This wmd issue just highlighted how our intellgence agencies were decimated by the dems. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons." - Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY),Oct 10, 2002

No...Kay says Iraq was potentially more of a threat than we thought, just says not due to WMDS. He isn't very clear, but mainly it is the missile production and terrorists running around that seem to have brought him to that conclusion.

Kay: Iraq was in violation of #1441.

Senator Inhofe: I consider any weapon that could kill a million people a WMD.!! One of the best lines so far.

I'll have to find that article and read it. What a coup for the Bush administration. I hereby revise my feeling that the "strategery" to keep Kay quiet about Syria may not be a good choice.
