This is the first time I have heard about pepper-spray in the 1st class cabin. Anyone know more about this?
To: NYC GOP Chick
It's good to hear (and see.. all of it including gore) what happened. Otherwise it gets cleaned up, forgotten, another democrat elected, and we get nailed again.

I thought this too at first, but after watching the Democrats at the State of the Union speech and in New Hampshire primary...I thought everyone should be reminded why we fight.
We can't let the traitorous media dictate policy in this country or change the debate.
To: Monty22
That's all true, but I still think about the families of the people whose voices we hear on these various tapes. It just makes me think about the last calls that friends of mine made, and how I would not want to hear them.
It's definitely not an easy call.

i think the answer is in post #56, too many americans have forgotten. its like a TV movie for most americans, they place the war on terror low on the list of national concerns, and as time goes by, its going lower.

Absolutely great points you make.

I understand what you say.
It is different for you than for me.
I was not there.
I slept through the whole thing.
(for real, want me to tell you about it?)
For me, I still feel the need to know as much as I can
about what happened.
Not at all for aural voyerism.
No.
Not for me.
For me it is fuel for my smouldering hatred for all of these bastards.
They need hating, good, old fashioned, pure, ugly hate.
I will be here just to keep the hate alive.
Some say we should heal.
Some say we should move on.
That may be fine for some.
But not for me.
I will hate, and hate, and hate them all some more.
Until my last dying breath.
There is nothing wrong with that.
Their sins are innumerable.
They have earned as much.

Well this just makes me angry all over againIt should provoke all of our dire emotions from that day again. If it doesn't, then we do not stand a chance of survival against our enemies.

That video is crushing. The two that for some reason affects me the most are Letterman's opening and his interview with Dan Rather on Letterman's first night back.
Unfortunately, way too many have forgotten...

There was stuff going on during Election 2000 I thought I'd never forget, but you do forget. I can't even remember enough of the thread titles to do an archive search for them now.
And every week I still read some idiot or other's editorial featuring an out-and-out lie about that election or the recount or the re-recount or the Supreme Court decision.
You have to have files, people keep trying to rewrite history...
To: Hazzardgate
We don't know it was pepper spray, just that it was something that made people unable to breath.
This was mentioned when the bits were coming out right after 9-11, but didn't get much publicity.
Maybe that's how they were able to take over the plane -- immobilized people with mace or who knows what.

This is why I can't get interested in the memorial right now. We've got to get every one of these psychos first. Not just the psychos themselves, but the sponsors and (conscious) harborers of the psychos. A big chore, and one that we've only just begun.

Yeah, who knows what they used actually. That's a bit disturbing, they probably got some chemical weapons on board.
Remember atta's burning hand thing too.
Why haven't we heard anything about this? Are the feds even aware? Are they that off the ball?
Sometimes I really wonder. They blew it so bad with 9/11 happening and not catching it that I wonder if they are complete idiots from top to bottom on this stuff.

Unfortunately, way too many have forgotten...You are so right. Even after all this time, I'm still hiccuping from crying so hard at that video again tonight! Back then, I remember thinking that I'd never get over it. I was right -- I never got over it, but I do learn how to deal with it somehow.

You have to have files, people keep trying to rewrite history... I think you summed it all up right there. I guess my view has been that of someone who dreads one day hearing someone I know on one of those tapes. That would destroy me, I think.

Madness. Just Madness. Don't mistake malice for madness. We need to be clear-eyed about this challenge.
To: cfrels
Does anyone out there hate those islamist barbarians as I do? Nope! No more so than I hate a used facial tissue that I'm about to discard.
I toss it in the trash, hopefully in a container where it won't pose a health risk or be an unsightly mess that annoys othersa, then forget it, as if it never existed.
And if I have to blow my nose or blot my sweaty brow again, I do so without any excessive or overwrought emotional attitudes about the next scrap of tissue paper that may need to be similarly tossed aside.
See the top of my Freeper profile for additional details.
