It would probably bethe ultimate in gun status-symbols

You've certainly got that right! That's one fine handgun. But it is neither terrifying nor fearsome--at least, not more so than any other small, fully automatic weapon. The Skorpion submachine gun, the H&K MP5k, the IMI MINI-UZI, and the Ingram MAC-10/MAC-11 are equally deadly, if not more so.

Capable, yes. Probable? Not until they make one big a$$ magazine or a belt fed variety. Talk about scare tactics and sensational reporting.

I wonder how big the water-jacket is to keep the barrel from melting.

I would never own such a gun!
How would I ever know if all my new best friends loved me for myself or my Glock?

I cant see the big deal about a full auto handgun, as something especially to fear. Not enough rounds, and I would imagine it takes a really good shooter to use it effectively.

Typical whiney liberal article.

Sounds like what the average Brit needs to stem the crime rate over there.

The Glock 18 was perhaps the best part of Matrix Reloaded.

Somewhere out there, there's a pretty good video clip of a guy in a mask emptying a 32rd stick in a G18. Made the email rounds a few months back, but I don't have it.

Tres' Chic, nice gun but not particularly useful.

Now THIS is useful full auto.

Notice the selector switch at the top of the slide. Semi-auto (one dot) or full-auto (two dots).

Or more correctly, 'individual counseling' and 'group therapy'.

I'm just going to reset my phaser to full-auto; 125,000 laser rounds per second, has a range of 19 light years, and does it all on two dilithium batteries.

(Batteries not included though).

"If it was fired on the streets of London by someone unused to its immense firing capability, there could be a massacre

Right, he'd massacre himself. If you don't know what you're doing, a firearm like this will eat you alive and spit out your brain.

The report said the Glock can fire "armour-piercing ammunition".

I wonder if it can shoot paper-piercing or cop killer bullets also?

It is not issued to any agencies in the UK and is believed to have been imported from the US.

SAS officers use the gun in combat with a 19-round magazine. Israeli security forces and Germany's GSG-9 anti-terror unit also carry it.

Oh my gosh, them SAS people ARE from outer space! 'cause this writer doesn't think they're from any agency in the UK.

The Glock 18c is a blast to shoot, though they made a critical error in the placement of the selector switch for semi-auto/auto. Looking carefully, one can see if an officer is armed with an 18 vs. the semi-auto 17. But yeah, it's a heck of a lot better than having officers walk around the airport with H&K's in their hands.

Anyone interested should check around at ranges in state and out of state to see if they rent this puppy, and expect to go through at least a thousand rounds. (Be sure to ask if they have the 33 round clips - more fun that way.)
