Then again, people who are so wrong they can't make right just scamper away and call people who disagree with them trolls.
Let me tell you something. It was John Kennedy who sent Americans to Vietnam. It was John Kennedy who had South Vietnam's president assassinated to put a *Christian* government in there. It was Johnson who escalated it to mega-proportions. All those things were wrong, but the underlying reason for going there in the first place was legit. Communism is cruel and genocidal.
France, of course, great allies that they have always been, did their usual double deal and ran.
Having said that, Americans do not go to war to lose...and we should NEVER have let up on the North, or Laos, or Cambodia. Millions died, and of course, it was their own governments killing them...so I guess that should have been okay with us, only genocide was not our cup of tea. I am talking about average, free, American Patriots TRYING to save entire populations, even in the face of our own corrupt politicians. Our Soldiers were not immoral. The justification was already there without the corrupting political interference, and our Soldiers should have had the full victory they deserved. Kerry and his ilk were worms and did a tremendous amount of damage to our Vets.
People like you blame the guys who put their lives on the line and say it was all wrong. It wasn't. They fought for the freedom of others regardless, and in spite of, the corruption in high places. But never have so many given so much and come home to be spat upon by the likes of Kerry and company.
Now!!!
Shut up!!!!

I never blamed the troops and consider them to be as much victims of bad policy as anyone else involved. Neither am I what you would call soft on communism. The troops were stuck between a rock an a hard place, the corruption of LBJ/Nixon on one side, and the craven AVRN and Air Marshal Ky on the other. They wern't being asked to fight for freedom, they were being asked to fight for a junta led by an incompetant. By the end of the war, almost everyone opposed it, even Johnny Cash was strumming out anti-war tunes. There were morons who spat on troops after the war, thinking that every GI was a Lt. Rusty Calley, but not everyone did, and the guys in VVAW probably less than most.

Now!!!

Shut up!!

Nah, I don't take orders too well.

And those anti-war protestors that ended up forcing us out of Indochina have the blood of two million Cambodians killed by the Khmer Rouge on their hands.
