Pat Toomey is not getting any support from the White House against Arlen Specter because he is a conservative going after a RINO. RINOs (one in the White House and several in Congress) take care of each other.

Why don't you ask Toomey whom he supports for President? My guess is that it's not Howard Phillips.

Seems like the local Republicans prefer Specter:

Toomey, who's spent the last six years representing the Allentown-based 15th Congressional District, announced last week that he would sit out the endorsements because he knew he did not have enough votes to win the party's backing.

Toomey was proven right on Saturday. All of the GOP's regional caucuses, including his own, threw their support to Specter. One Lehigh Valley activist, Blake Marles of Lower Macungie Township, also made a nominating speech on Specter's behalf.

''I've known Pat Toomey since he got involved in politics … but I think there's no question that Arlen Specter is the best choice,'' Marles said after the meeting. ''I wish Pat had waited one more term.''morning call, harrisburg

Try more proof and less tired, old slogans.
