Our President did NOT propose an amnesty and is NOT condoning illegal entry. Read the proposal before commenting. The aliens he proposes admitting must have an employer waiting for them in advance. They will be registered with the government, and we will know where they are. Immigration will have the power to exclude, or deport, any one found here without the proper paperwork.

I think this will be a boon to Homeland Security. I heard Bob Kerry say on C-Span yesterday that Immigration officers identified the hijackers were within 45 minutes of the attack on the Twin Towers and on the Pentagon.

19 INS, or border patrol, agents failed us under the old immigration policy. Only one border agent stopped a highjacker from entering the US, and even that small effort probably saved the White House or the Capitol from a similar attack.

The Wall Street Journal today is calling for a new policy that will register aliens and track them.

I have read the proposal and suggest you do as well.

It is an amnesty and does condone illegal immigration. See below.

This program will offer legal status, as temporary workers, to the millions of undocumented men and women now employed in the United States,

Translated into straight talk:

This program will offer legal status, as temporary workers, to the millions of illegal aliens now employed in the United States,

If you still claim to not understand that quote, see my tagline.

Our President did NOT propose an amnesty

He proposed to legalize millions of Illegal Aliens. Doesn't matter how the hairs are split, it's an Amnesty, just like the last big one.

I need to do some research and add a new column for the Clinton Amnesties. I'm fairly certain all of the answers would be yes for him, as well, except that he only Amnestied a bit over a million Illegals.

and is NOT condoning illegal entry.
You can't propose to reward millions of Illegal Aliens with legal status without condoning illegal entry. This is the lesson of Amnesty, and it seems some need to learn it again.
In the San Diego sector of the border "we have two to three times the number we had a few weeks ago," Senior Border Patrol Agent Shawn Moran told HUMAN EVENTS. Moran is spokesman for the local San Diego chapter of the National Border Patrol Council, the patrolmen's union.

"In one place, we have eight times," said Moran.

Asked if this could just be a seasonal increase, Moran replied, "We usually get something of an increase at this time of year, but nothing like this." The trend showed no signs of abating, he said.

Moran says he is certain Bush's plan is motivating the illegal aliens who have caused the spike in illegal border crossings. "Because 95% of the people we're catching say that's why," Moran said. "They say they're coming for the amnesty. A lot of these people have not been caught before. They have no immigration histories."

Moran also said the Bush proposal has caused a change in the urgency and demography of illegal border crossers. "We're catching them repeatedly throughout the week," Moran said. "They're desperate to get this amnesty even though we told them it's only a proposal. . . . We're catching more women and children than we have since 1999."

The aliens he proposes admitting must have an employer waiting for them in advance.

There is no limit to the number of Aliens the President would admit who have underbid American wages on any new job offered. Additionally, established immigrants could offer jobs that required fluency in a foreign language, as a ruse to open the floodgates of chain immigration.

They will be registered with the government, and we will know where they are.

We know where they are now, and do nothing about it.

We know how to find the million-plus Illegals currently using the matricula consular ID cards. We know where to find employees using false Social Security numbers. We know where the day-laborer sites are. We know where the hospital delivery rooms and emergency rooms are.

Heck, we know where to find Illegals who've just lost their deportation hearings, right there in the courtroom, and then we let them go.

Immigration will have the power to exclude, or deport, any one found here without the proper paperwork.

We have that power now, and fail to use it.

The Wall Street Journal today is calling for a new policy that will register aliens and track them.

The Wall Street Journal's position on Illegals has long been for Amnesty, Open Borders, and Globalism.
