Why are you making such a big deal about disruptors?
It is these others who are making a big deal of it, as though they are some last brave few souls struggling against some unwashed horde of invaders who have invaded FR and are going to nail them to a cross or something.
And because they imply that our staff and our software is inadequate. I maintain exactly the opposite: that FR is the most secure of online forum sites. I won't do more than hint at it but I think FR could survive a lot more than most any site you could name. For instance, we've never had the site hijacked. But the FBI and the CIA and NSA and DOJ and many major corporations have had this done to them. Given that we are hated by the Slashdot nerd crowd as much or more than any of those others, do you really think we're sitting here, fat dumb and happy and just not getting attacked? I think you grossly underestimate our opponents and just how good FR software really is. Don't be fooled just because FR has a plain-text look. The real power is under the hood.
Excuse me, but it appears that thou dost protest too much. Could that be because you is one?
Oh, my, caught at last, my evil plan in ruins.
Do you honestly think disruptors last around here for going on five years? My dear, if you were a disruptor, you wouldn't even have lasted your ten months of membership here. You wouldn't have lasted ten days. Probably not ten hours. Most disruptors don't last ten minutes.
Nobody fools JimRob and the staff for that long.
Well, I'd discuss it further if I thought you had a clue as to what you're talking about.

Saber: The difference is that aliens already here will NOT be considered for this program. Application must be made fromt the home country.
That's simply not true. You asked another poster if they'd read the President's proposal. I propose a new temporary worker program that will match willing foreign workers with willing American employers when no Americans can be found to fill the jobs. This program will offer legal status as temporary workers to the millions of undocumented men and women now employed in the United States and to those in foreign countries who seek to participate in the program and have been offered employment here. Text of Bush immigration speech President outlines plan to give illegals legal status World Net Daily - January 7, 2004
Did you read it? But it's really senseless to argue about something that has not even been brought up in Congress yet.
The President brought it up at the White House. Why does it make sense to ignore what he's said? This has many months before it will ever see the light of day. But the Bush bashers are like the Chicken Little -- "the sky is falling; the sky is falling."
I'm not a big fan of the terms "Bushbots" and "Bushbashers." My point is that we would have no controls whatsoever with the other side of the aisle in charge. Keep your powder dry until the REAL proposal is on the table.
Look, I've been warning for a few years that President Bush would propose an Illegal Alien Amnesty, and for a couple of years, many who are now trying to stifle this conversation have denied he would, or said "talk to me when he actually proposes something." The net effect was simply a procrastination to avoid a topic that would have been better off addressed much earlier. Well, now he actually has proposed his "not an Amnesty" Amnesty plan to legalize millions of Illegal Aliens, angering many Republicans, threatening to depress turnout in November, and the time to avoid addressing it has passed.

The strength of character, control and resolve this man has is amazing. The response of most people to these assaults would inevitably be a familiar country song, "Take This Job and Shove It!". I'm grateful that President Bush has the sense of commitment to seek to continue in the office.I am grateful as well. It is amazing the obnoxious crap he has had to put up with since 2000 and he remains positive. I don't see how he does it! I can only think what he must be muttering under his breath. Guess he needs another open mic with VP Cheney to give us another new word like he did "Clymer!"

As I've mentioned to several posters, I've been in meetings at work all morning. So haven't been on the thread much. I just wanted to say the commentary from you both in #457 is exceptional. If only more people were as perceptive as are you two.

If President Clinton would have spent money like President Bush, and even suggested amnesty for literally millions that have broken our laws, every single Republican on this board would be coming unglued, mocking him, calling for his head, impeachment, etc, etc. This is painfully clear to all that are honest with themselves.Naturally, you have no comment on this list. What a shock.

We've had a ton of troll activity lately. I am not sure that the Clarkies have been any worse or any more numerous than the "Freepers for Dean" or the "Freepers for Kerry".

Globalism That used to be a buzzword only heard in WTO protests by grungey college students playing anarchist and aging hippies. When did that supposedly become a conservative issue and what do you mean by it?
"Globalism" has been going on since the Persians and Greeks were trading with China....

And yes, I think many ill-willed freepers have older posting dates.

Are you on this thread to discuss the issue as a part of the President's conservative accomplishments?
Claims were made about what the President's conservative accomplishments have been. I agreed with many of them, and said so. Others are debatable, and I've also said so, and why. Have you made any posts other than from your anti-immigration soapbox? Just curious.
I am not "anti-immigration;" I'm opposed to legalizing Illegal Aliens. President Bush has just proposed that we legalize millions of Illegal Aliens. I don't find that proposal to be a conservative accomplishment. I wouldn't find enactment of anything like that proposal to be a conservative accomplishment. Would you?

Kudos, kudos and more kudos.
You and your partner have done an EXCELLENT job on this compiliation.
I am sending it on via email to a few folks I know who could and will further send it to a few folks they know, etc.
I see already, the reaction of the Johnny One-Noters, the hopelessly blind segment that race along FR, from thread to thread, excoriating The President for failing them on their one or two issues.
For them, I leave this:

Okay. I stand corrected. It seems I'm being told we are getting trolled and invaded.

you grumblers LOL! You defeatists!
Please don't take it personally, I just don't think we help push Bush to the right by shutting up and coddling his liberal tendencies.

GWB may still not get the votes of "Real Conservatives", but that's just because these people constantly expect to have their personal whims catered to.
Yeah. Maybe the next thing I'll work on is a definition of what a "real" conservative is, LOL! Seems to be many things to many people. Just when you think you got it figured, cranks go and change the rules again. I think what they really want is a Fairy Godmother to wave a magic wand and remake the world into a perfect pumpkin.

And now we're going to need either a Constitutional AmendmentWe already have one, it's called the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution. What we don't need is a gleeful rush to have the national government 'fix' everything for us because 'our' guy is in charge.
I know this concept may be foreign to you and others of the 'party faithful', but at one time the Republican party ran on the concept of limited government, thus allowing the states and the citizens of the states to handle their internal affairs and moral issues as may arise
But don't work for the election of a conservative senator, just hang around here and bitch.
Who says I'm not? Do you track me when I leave the computer? I spend more time talking about the upcoming election to those that may be undecided or have swallowed party lines from both parties off line than I ever do online

Ultimetely, Pres Bush can oppose all he want, but the states does have great latitude in forming some reasonable laws in respect to immigration as long as it within the bounds of the constitution.
Fair enough. When we in California wanted to enact Proposition #187, a very reasonable state law which would have protected California taxpayers from having to pay for public services and benefits to Illegal Aliens, President Bush, while a gubernatorial candidate, opposed us.
