Pat Toomey is not getting any support from the White House against Arlen Specter because he is a conservative going after a RINO. RINOs (one in the White House and several in Congress) take care of each other.

Seems like the local Republicans prefer Specter:

Toomey, who's spent the last six years representing the Allentown-based 15th Congressional District, announced last week that he would sit out the endorsements because he knew he did not have enough votes to win the party's backing.

Toomey was proven right on Saturday. All of the GOP's regional caucuses, including his own, threw their support to Specter. One Lehigh Valley activist, Blake Marles of Lower Macungie Township, also made a nominating speech on Specter's behalf.

''I've known Pat Toomey since he got involved in politics … but I think there's no question that Arlen Specter is the best choice,'' Marles said after the meeting. ''I wish Pat had waited one more term.''morning call, harrisburg

Try more proof and less tired, old slogans.

No matter what may happen between now and election day.

We can not give our nation
to the Democrats.

We can not give our nation
to those who seek to destroy freedom.

Terrorists on the outside
see friends on the inside.

No matter what these fiends conspire to do.
We must strong strong and loyal to the cause....

On principal and conscience alone,
I will NEVER vote Democrat nor cast a vote
for Third Party Candidates who seek to destroy the
power of our vote.

May all of America see Evil for what It Is.
And stay the course...No matter what.

I just view the threat of a democrat president as being so much worse than anything President Bush has done

What you said was so crucial that it deserved to be posted twice ;-)

Have a great night!

Ouch, missed this from FirstPrinciple...

It's pretty funny because Rick Santorum endorsed Specter, too, and usually Santorum is considered quite the conservative hero :-)

As I said, California has had this 'problem' decades before Bush 1st was president and you know it! Or maybe you are young and were sheltered by your mommy and daddy during these last three decades? As I said this was a problem in the 70's, don't tell me it didn't exist, I know better. Just like the dems you want to blame everything on Bush, either the father or the son.... BTW, I don't want your sympathy, keep it for yourself and your other pity-party Bush-bashing losers.

Thank you so much! I get so frustrated with all the Bush bashing that has been going on here. I swear it's all negative all the time with some of these folks. Nothing but whining and dwelling on the negative and trying to insist that there's no difference in the parties. I really think some here really do want a dem to win so they will have more to whine and pout about.....

Sadly the Republican party has taken a top-down approach. Orders are coming from the very top to endorse Specter. Dick Cheney is raising funds for him and the White House just asked Toomey not to use his pictures with the President in his campaign. If you don't think that orders are coming from top, then you haven't gotten out of bed lately.

First of all, writing things in caps doesn't make your point any smarter. Secondly, I have no problems with border jumpers. I would like to see an open border, but I would not offer welfare benefits to illegal aliens. Not a penny. If they think they can come and earn a decent wage, go ahead.

Illegal drug use is a completely different story. Drugs are illegal by fiat only. There is absolutely no gain in banning drugs. The economic costs of banning drugs is enormous. Not to mention the police state that it helps create. BTW, if drug users would want the govt to subsidize their drugs, or would want the govt to pay for their rehab or other consequences of drug use, then I wouldn't want that either. Live and let live. As long as people are doing drugs without harming others, they should have the right to do so. The only people who benefit from prohibition on drugs are mafia kingpins and terrorists. Do you want to side with terrorists?

God, I can't believe how dense you are. Women who choose to have PBA by demand do it because they have the option to do so. If they do not have the option to do so, what are they going to do? They will have it early. If you don't understand this simple thing, don't bother continuing this discussion.

Some laws are there to protect citizens from each other and from the state. The ones that you listed are criminal behaviors from one person to another. Drug use doesn't harm anyone else. Sure, if you are high on crack and kill someone, you should go to jail. But drug use by itself doesn't harm anyone else. If I choose to do drugs in my own privacy without harming others, it is not a criminal behavior. The only reason drugs are illegal is to extend the power of the state over individual privacy. The only people who want to see drugs to be illegal are politicians and terrorists.

This is Jim's wife. For your info I'm not originally from here, neither is Jim. But, there are quite a few Mexicans, here and there, in Arkansas. Mostly unskilled laborers, many work in gardening and landscaping areas. Personally I wish more would work in the fast food joints in Little Rock. Maybe then I could get something besides a cold, stale burger practically thrown in my face by some resentful white trash who's mad at the world for whatever reason, or some surly black who's sure I'm Scarlett O'Hara there to oppress them and keep them poor and waiting on lil' ole me.

Gee, so sorry I don't lay awake at night and worry about the Mexicans. Perhaps you don't need anger management at all.... just a little haloperidol or thorazine should fix you right up1
