So you'll know,Saber,I did not say you advocated third party;I did say you indulge in screeds.

GB, your post to me is right on this thread at #973:

"All the screeds about going to the Constipation Party do less service, emboldening the Left in a manner an individual as sophisticated as you obviously are ,has to be aware of."

Who do you think you're kidding?

These are not just minor, small single issues. Few issues are larger, or more dangerous.

I agree these are HUGE issues, and its hard to know what to do.

I personally believe that George W did not come up with this illegal workers program for political reasons. Or because of some conspiracy theory. I sure hope not?!

He had to have known how much it would hurt him.

I believe he did it because he genuinely cares about Mexican people, and businesses need workers for wages they can afford.

Many of these Mexican workers are very hard workers with lots of staminia to do jobs white me just aren't up to, or don't want. I live in North Central Idaho where we grow alot of trees. We have very steep hillsides, and its extremely hard work. The illegals can plant so many more tress then white guys, and do it right.

But along with their hard work they bring their culture too. Many go after, and get very young girls pregnant, even though they are already married in Mexico. Many have come from a very violent lifestyle. Instead of normal bar fights they carry and use knives.

When they are arrested they get a free ride home to visit their family and are back in a few days with a new name.

Hopefully this won't go far.

I don't understand why Bush would propose such an idiotic thing, but I am still supporting him over the ultimate EVIL on the other side.

You're right. Dubya has done absolutely nothing about immigration, therefore it is totally irrelevant to this thread.

Were you under the impression that I was expecting a REPLY from you?

Well, I wasn't. I'm not interested in your formatting, nor your little icon, nor your sanctimonious drivel, which most of us bypass.

I was merely pointing out that what you stated as fact was, in fact, untrue, and more than likely your opinion or wishful thinking.

Oh, sorry Tex. Didn't mean to touch upon that. After all, I was the only one to mention it in the past 900+ posts.... I'll try and avoid that sticky issue in the future and deal with less controversial topics.

Thanks for getting me back on track Tex.

Tex is right Breeder. I should have never touched on that topic, and I should have known better. It's something we should avoid at all cost. Even on immigration threads, it should only be brought up with compassion in mind.

Let me guess, after being recycled, they'll be returning as legal citizens?

Try it some time, Tex. It's fun. I enjoy it immensely. Houston is only about 350 miles from the Mexican border.

Many are repeating criticisms of Bush that we see aimed at him from DU. Someone at FR today said that Bush lied about WMD's and took us to war on false pretenses. Also, many folks screaming about the guest worker proposal are advocating voting for a third party.

And?

I see many Democrat talking points, race-baiting, and Clintonista style personality-cult behavior among a lot of the President's defenders.

What am I to make of that?

Lotsa pots and kettles around here, and so it will always be.

So, the best thing to do, I find, is ignore most of it, have fun with some of it, and try and reach an individual here, and another there.

Not your fault, I know, but there are so many here lately that advocate voting for an opposition party that it is difficult to tell who are genuine political allies.

While some never voted for Bush in 2000, many did.

Many of those allies have been disaffected because alliances are mutual relationships, and President Bush hasn't always had the keenest ear for that.

We're all recalling what happened in 1992, when the tin ear of GHWB led to a loss of a huge part of his 1988 constituency to Ross Perot. I voted for Bush, but take a contrary view to one I see all too often here, by those who blame Perot or the voters, instead of Bush 41 himself, for blowing all of those votes.

He was the President. He was the candidate. The buck stops with him.

The same holds true for this President Bush.

Wouldn't Bush 41, and the country, have been better off if he had paid more attention to the grumblings in the GOP in the Fall and Winter of '91 and '92?

Was he well-served by advisors who told him "ignore them, it'll pass. You just won a war in Kuwait. Do the 'read my hips' gag."

Would he not have been better off with fewer yes-men and more folks willing to talk straight about the mistakes he was making and the effect it would have on his chances for reelection?

And yet, even as you see disruptors, disruptors everywhere, I see a lot of folks who just want to shout down the dissent, and ignore the votes that are leaking from the GOP coalition.

Huh?

Yeah, we have all that in California, but many times more. Funny though, there are millions more illegals in cities like LA than hanging around the trees or fields....

I think he was referring to an earlier post of mine where I admitted that two minutes with a knife turns a water station into a plastic bottle recycling site.

WOW!

What a list!

Must bookmark for future reference.

President Bush has done alot. He just hasn't done everything that everybody wants. That's to be expected really. Can't please all the people all the time.

Still, I understand where some are upset, and don't want to support him anymore. That's their right, I guess.

As for me- There is no way I wouldn't support President Bush this election. If only for the military alone, and nothing else.

From what I've been reading on different threads the Bush Bashers don't think the dems in power are a problem. They don't see them as a threat, and they think that a Republican Congress and House will keep a 'RAT president at bay.

I think that's just plain crazy. I will submit the 8 years of Clinton's presidency and "Stroke of the pen, law of the land -neat huh?" as more than enough evidence of the dangers of giving the presidency to a 'RAT. The Republican's couldn't do much to stop Clinton and his endless EO's either.
