I don't suppose we will be hearing any of this on the cable networks. That's exactly what was going through my mind as I watched the interview unfold. This was blockbuster stuff. Will the networks cover it? Will the NY Times give it 1/10th the inches it devoted to Kay's original "there are no WMDs" report? Somehow I doubt it.
To: McGruff
I agree, Crime Dog. Why not ask directly about Syria? Further indications of this simply being a case of Lauer not doing his homework perhaps?

Thanks for your report. It must be ratings. Katy & Matt are whores along with being flaming liberal partisans. I don't trust either of them.

"It was absolutely prudent to go to war. The system was collapsing, Iraq was a country with desire to develop WMDs, and it was attracting terrorists like flies to honey."I don't suppose we'll see this quote in the New York Times.

If Katie and Matt keep this up, I could be out of my "job" at FR, reporting on blatant liberal bias at The Today Show! No. Think of it this way: what candidates supported the war or voted in favor of action? Who would the Libs want to be able to "forgive" a vote if they can show he was misled (even to the point of saying Bush was also misled) to make that canadidate more palatable as the Dem Nominee?

Come on....Iraq is the size of Californina. IMHO, it's still too soon to make a conclusive decision.I agree. If you can hide one of these, image how easy it would be to hide a liter of anthrax....

Interesting theory. Devious, but interesting!

Wow. What a great interview! When I saw that Kay was on I thought that it would be another I-got-the-goods-on-Bush tell all, but I was happily mistaken. Laur did a good job but it was evident that Kay was taking all the wind out of his sails. This should be broadcast against Dean, Edwards, Clark, and John Franken Kerry whenever they wet their pants over Iraq.
To: governsleastgovernsbest
It's good that he has said these things. However since the left can't digest information in it's true form they will continue to spin that Bush intentionally led us into this war based on lies. Get ready for the big battle.
To: SquirrelKing
I agree that Kay was amazingly supportive of the Bush administration, but I must respectfully disagree that Lauer was out to get W and that Kay was "taking the wind out of his sails." I sensed a surprisingly supportive tone in the manner in which Matt framed his questions.
To: Wait4Truth
I agree, especially after watching several rat pundits last night...the mantra for this election is already in place....*Bush lied, and caused over 500 US deaths*...*The Bush Doctrine can never work with faulty intel*....and my fav..*It was ultimately Bush's decision, the buck stops here*....

What I find interesting is that Saddam had the intention of developing WMDs, paid huge somes of money following his intention, and actually believed that he had them. I do think we are expecting a lot from our intelligence agency if we have the expectation of knowing more about the state of Iraq's WMD programs than Saddam himself.

Lauer and Katie have fallen to number 2 in the ratings.
You don't supose that they have discovered "Trash Bush... Tatings fall. Be fair ... Ratings rise" do you?
Nah!!! Katie and Lauer are both to perky to figure that out.

that Saddam was indeed a threat, and that war against him was absolutely justified. I have been patiently pointing out for two days that in two different interviews that I know of, (NPR, then yesterday's Brokaw), Kay said what they found indicated Iraq was MORE of a threat than we thought before going in. I surmised due to terrorism when I heard it the first time, and indeed, that's what he pointed to, in part, in his Brokaw, and now Today interviews.
He's been saying it, it's been buried, and like you, I termed it a bombshell revelation.
