NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The school honor roll, a time-honored system for rewarding A-students, has become an apparent source of embarrassment for some underachievers.
As a result, all Nashville schools have stopped posting honor rolls, and some are also considering a ban on hanging good work in the hallways -- all at the advice of school lawyers.

This is more evidence that our country is FUBAR.
Thank God I sacrifice (understatement) to keep my kids in a private Christian school. The day the gubmint sticks its hands in that beehive (or more gun or internet regulation for that matter) is the day the gubmint will have a real "problem" on their hands. We will only bend so far, and indeed, we passed the limit long ago IMO.

They thought they could solve the problem by getting the necessary permission from the people whose names were to appear on the honor roll. But it turns out that by posting an honor roll you're "publishing" academic information about the people who didn't make it -- whose permission is thus also required!

I was born and raised in Nashville and it didn't used to be like this. The city has been invaded by big city PC types that have wormed their way into everything. I'm ashamed.
