Wouldn't be so bad if they spoke English too. I'm reminded of a time in McDonald's when I had occasion to ask for salt. After several attempts, I switched to sal (Spanish for salt to you northern gringos), whereupon there was immediate comprehension. Salt apparently was not close enough. Have an Asian-American friend who was upset when she asked for "pepper" at a fast food joint in Tustin and was stared down by the monoglot server after the latter rejoined "PIMIENTA?" Count her as someone who's also upset about out-of-control illegal immigration in California. (Go ahead, Bush lickspittles: Call her a "racist.")

This issue is much more than whether one likes Bush or not. I like Bush, but I am very disappointed in his non-solution to this problem. But I do think it could well be that he is sincere when he say says, and I paraphrase, that he is advocating the "guest worker program" because he believes it is the right thing to do. He didn't take a poll before acting in the War of Terror, so perhaps this is the same. But, however sincere he may be, with a plan that will exaserbate the problem instead of fix it, he is dead wrong.
