Wrong, we have not been a country of immigrants since about 1778. The majority of the population has always been born here. We are a unique country with one culture, but are multi ethnic. IF you go back far enough, you will find that people have moved into every country of the world.

Wrong, we have not been a country of immigrants since about 1778.Right, and as Terry Anderson says, even if we were a nation of immigrants, so what? Does that mean we have to be a "nation of immigrants" forever? We used to have slavery, too, but we saw it was wrong and we don't have slaves anymore! If something's not working for the country anymore, we should end it. I'm so sick of hearing "we're a nation of immigrants," I could retch.
