I thought it was illegal for US citizens to travel to Cuba, even if the sojourner went through a third country like Mexico or Canada. No?

Naw. There are so many exceptions to the travel ban, that the loophole is big enough for Redford to drive through in his liberal limousine.

Btw, since 1966, it has been suspected among South American communists that Castro's agents ratted out Che to the Bolivian government forces.

There was a strong rivalry among three Cuban Revolution figures, Castro, Cienfuegos, and Che.

Cienfuegos was more popular in Cuba than Castro, and Cienfuegos' plane "disappeared" in an unsolved mystery.

Che was more popular abroad than Castro, and Che was turned over by "local peasants" to the Bolivian government forces, and Che died in the ensuing fight.

Castro got rid of his Trosky.
