Looks like Castro is on a 'daily' celebrity fix frantically looking for recognition and attention for worldwide publicity, so the world can forget about his ruthless, starved, communist dictatorship.

"Castro seeks out Robert Redford"

I believe that Castro and Redford would be very comfortable together.

If Cuba is such a wonderful place, why don't those enamored with it move there? Just leave. Get out. We don't want those who don't appreciate all that capitalism has given them. People who can do nothing but play pretend and become millionaires then decry those actually working to make a living.

I thought it was illegal for US citizens to travel to Cuba, even if the sojourner went through a third country like Mexico or Canada. No?

and discussed his latest film, on revolutionary icon Che Guevara.

It's a safe bet that neither Che nor Fidel will be shown as examples of what happens when you overdose on Marxism.

"HAVANA (Reuters) - Cuban President Fidel Castro, who has charmed some of Hollywood's biggest names, has paid a call on actor Robert Redford at his Havana hotel . . ."

. . . gee, Robert, a curt "'No Thanks', I don't support your politics", would of worked . . . (/sarcasm>)

how old is Che Guevera? How old are his children? Does Robert Redford have to make money for the widow and her children? What are the ages. When did Guevera die??? Inquiting minds want to know. :)

Che has been dead for about 35 years. He had 4 or 5 children by two different women. The oldest might be about 45.

Well, I thought that was the case. Gosh Che's name has been around forever. That's why I asked how old his children were and why is RR raising money for them? Is this extreme or what? Thanks for the response.

Naw. There are so many exceptions to the travel ban, that the loophole is big enough for Redford to drive through in his liberal limousine.

Btw, since 1966, it has been suspected among South American communists that Castro's agents ratted out Che to the Bolivian government forces.

There was a strong rivalry among three Cuban Revolution figures, Castro, Cienfuegos, and Che.

Cienfuegos was more popular in Cuba than Castro, and Cienfuegos' plane "disappeared" in an unsolved mystery.

Che was more popular abroad than Castro, and Che was turned over by "local peasants" to the Bolivian government forces, and Che died in the ensuing fight.

Castro got rid of his Trosky.
