He is saying that that the Terror alert level could possibly be raised later today ... that there is something about intel about threats for tomorrow Feb 2nd so that is sign this cancellation may not be directed towards the Super Bowl itself. The politics of the "alert level" are really starting to be bothersome.
The way I look at it..if there is a "real" threat, you raise the darn level.
I fear that $$$s and political costs are being looked at more than the American people's safety, and that is wholly unacceptable.
Problem is, W will do MORE to keep us safe than some idiot like Kerry. But they still play too loose with our security, and treat the vast majority of us like idiots for my liking.
If there was ONE thing I could tell George, it would be.."quit playing politics with our security". Close the damned borders (militarize them if neccessary). Export the bad guys. Get serious. And, when there's a threat - tell it to us like it is. Drop the "nothing to see here" nonsense. Treat us like adults, and let us all know what to do to help protect America.
/end of rant..

why should NYC conduct saturation vehicle searches at tunnels if the threats are to aircraft? raising the level triggers too many unrelated activities to take place, we can't have a system that activates everything, everywhere, all the time.
its got to be more selective, to be effective.

Totally agree.

You have a point.
Unfortunately, there are too many of "us"
out there who do not want to be treated like adults
and would not respond like adults if told the truth.
The risk for chaos is too high, and you and your family
could find yourselves in jeapordy by those who decided
to give anarchy a try.
