This is all getting pretty tension filled. I just checked with our COPS program to find out who is a HAM radio operator here. I fear most people in this country are oblivious to all this. I called a friend who is elderly and asked her if she has seen the news and she said, no I haven't had the TV on for several days. I did convince her to go out and get water etc.

Anyone, just wondering what you guys/gals think of this quote from Afghan President Karzai?

""His exact location is not known," Karzai told reporters at his Kabul palace. "Inside or outside the (Afghan) border, it is not clear." Karzai said recent videos showing bin Laden demonstrated that he was still alive. "Everyone can see those videos," he said."

It is from this thread

Has Karzai seen videos that are not being shared with us? Hmmmmmmm

Small plane goes down into Pacific Ocean

The Associated Press
1/31/2004, 4:26 p.m. ET

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A small plane crashed into the ocean Saturday morning about a half-mile from the Port of Los Angeles and divers searched for the wreckage, officers said.

Authorities did not immediately know what type of plane crashed or how many people were on board, said Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer Lance Jones. Witnesses described it as a small plane, possibly a Cessna, officials said.

The plane went down during the morning between the Los Angeles Lighthouse and Cabrillo Beach, said Art Marrujo, dispatch supervisor for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

An oil slick and limited debris were visible on the surface, but by early afternoon divers had not been able to locate the plane, Jones said.

Water in the area was about 65 feet deep. "We have divers down, but it's pretty low visibility down there," Jones said.

The Coast Guard had contacted local airports but no planes were reported missing, Jones added.
