It's about an hour and 15 minutes away.

Lansing to Bloomfield Hills (Detroit) is pretty much one big strech of city.....Lansing, Ann Arbor, Detroit.
Big muslim population in Ann Arbor (heard about celebrations on the evening PRIOR to 9/11).
