Ten years ago we went through the airports at JFK and New Jersey. I had never seen a single Hasidic Jew, let alone so many in my life all in one place. They were everywhere. It made me realize how some of us live in sheltered little bubbles and see the same things day in and day out, never realizing how many different cultures live elsewhere in our own country. On that trip I saw the Statue of Liberty and have video and photos of the World Trade Center. I am so thankful we were able to take that trip.

Kind of funny how we would stare at the Amish when we went on family vacations to Lancaster, PA, would never bat an eye at the Hasidics, who are commonplace in the NYC Metro area. In fact, there are entire villages in the NYC Metro area that are made up almost exclusively of Hasidic sects. Kyrias Joel (Sp?) in Rockland County, NY comes to mind.
