I don't understand the "falcon" connection.

The February 1, 2004 start date is either a simple coincidence or intentionally chosen by some script-kiddy who wishes to play into the 'EndUS' countdown fears. It is certainly designed to provided more grief to the Microsoft OS home users - an easy thing to do with all of the holes in the Operating System.
