Izzat Ibrahim Al-Douri and the Fedayeen had contacts with Al-Qaeda PRIOR to the invasion. It takes years to cultivate those kinds of relationships.

I don't know to what extent they've teamed up. Maybe there's extensive cooperation going on. I haven't seen it documented though. The fact that a relationship existed for years has been documented. So far the details are sketchy. These captures don't tell us anything about that.

Plus, Abu Nidal was in Iraq with Saddam's blessing and in contact with , and training Al-Qaeda members.
Reason enough to take out Saddam.
I don't see why WMD's were ever even mentioned as a reason to go to war with Iraq, other than to mollify the U.N.
