With Hopi springs drying up, Hopi springs not eternal?

The very reason I'd like to see them change the name back to "squaw", is to throw this racist argument back in their faces. Nobody took squaw as offensive until some leftists artificially created the controversy a few years ago.
Change the name of anything else you want to Piestewa (and rename some other stuff after the other Arizonans killed in Iraq). But bring back Squaw Peak.
This argument here is with the leftists, not with Arizona's Native-Americans.

(The Greens, like the Nazis before them, are inordinate, i.e., there is no limit to their demands.)

who cares?
it can't be more offensive than the vagina dialogues performed in public.

It could be worse. The BLM reorganization of the 80s gave Idaho a "Squaw Mountain" as well. Its former name, "Squaw Tit Mountain" was deemed irremdially provocative - those old trappers were evidently a lonely bunch.
They renamed "Pissant Butte" to "Ant Butte" at the same time. Our culture took a horrifying blow...

I have less problem with them changing it than what they changed it too.
I'm sorry, but Piestewa did nothing worthy of this honor. We can't go around naming mountains after everyone who dies in battle. We don't have enough mountains.
