Baloney. Sean likes and admires Rush. This issue and the silly and mean left wing character assassination attempt against Rush needs to be continually spot lighted, until, they back down. I am proud of both Sean and Rush. And, I sympathize with Rush and anyone in serious physical pain.

"Baloney. Sean likes and admires Rush. "

That's what he wants everyone to think, all the while plotting the overthrow of the king. Al Capone liked Buggsy Moran too - untill he wiped him out on St. Valentines day. Brutus was of friend of Ceasar too!!!

Don't waste your time with this "conspiracy theory" crap, FreeAtlanta. "Lefty" here has been selling this crap on other threads as well. Kinda sad actually.

Whether Rush is guilty of a major crime here is not so much the issue at hand, but the most publicized. Finding a sympathetic doctor who helps one function in society with the drugs that mask the pain is better than becoming non functional because a Doctor plays God with pain control.

I had a serious back injury also. I have changed doctors because of the same concern. Who is going to treat me with dignity so I can function on those days the pain becomes unbearable? I have been given the same lecture about possible addiction and why doctor X thinks taking tylenol should be adequate to treat my pain. That is like taking m&m's for a headache. yet Dr. Y will give me a prescription for the same symptoms. I would give anything to not have to take pain killers, but the times they are necessary, having that option allows me to function long enough to get thru that phase and live a nearly normal life.

The big issue behind this is that the State is seizing control of health care decisions that should be privately between the Doctor and the Patient. If the State has the ability to scrutinize each prescription of a pain medication, the doctors will become unwilling to write the necessary prescription for fear of harassment. Most Doctors are very reasonable in their assessment of what a patient needs, yet there will always be a small minority of people who will abuse those drugs, or sell them on the black market. When the State intervenes in our health care decisions they will ration care like they do in Canada.

Rush has brought the issue of reasonable medical care to the forefront. Doctors who work for the state are not working for the Patient. Doctors have the ability to completely control pain for millions of people. The big question is; Who is the God of pain control, The Doctor, or the State? Rush is being used to intimidate thousands of Doctors into working for the State, and not the patient.
