we'll never be able to land on Saturn, Jupiter, Neptune and nor even probably Venus, etc.

This is probably true (with the exception of Venus). However, the moons of those planets are truly inviting. :-)

I don't buy that we'll "never" be able to do anything.

Ask someone in the third century if it would ever be possible to speak to someone on the other side of the planet with an object that could fit inside his palm... He'd emphatically say "we could NEVER do something like that, are you crazy?!"

Thank you. I was astonished at that response, especially with regards to conditions on / above (atmosphere) Jupiter, and of course, even just the hazardous approach for Saturn is foreboding. Venus, I thought might be too hot for a manned landing. And it is manned landings I was speaking of (as you probably knew).
