The last local ER doc that saw my son (he went into resp distress due to bronchial infection that kicked off his asthma first illness in years) before transferring him to another facility after observing my sons ballistic movements due to severe Cerebral Palsy asked me point blank "You two live like this?" Yes I can shrug it off but it is best that we stay far away from hospitals due to his severe physical condition which is not terminal. I only take him if he needs treatment that I cannot provide as in this case IV antibiotics and a trial of breathing treatments or say if he needed a life saving surgery.

Doernbecher was such a great place but he grew into an adult and there just isn't any competent places to hold a wild body like his safely. But there are a lot of great Physicians who respect my sons right to life.
