SACRAMENTO -- The wait is finally over for tens of thousands of immigrants who, a federal judge said, were wrongfully turned away when they applied for green cards under a 1986 amnesty program.

Following a legal battle of more than 17 years, waged at every level of the federal judiciary and in Congress, U.S. District Judge Lawrence K. Karlton signed off Friday on a settlement that will allow eligible immigrants to seek legal status in the United States.

I read this week a report from one of the independent organizations (not INS) that serves us by rounding up illegals along the border and turning them over to the INS for deportation. Many of the 80 illegals they caught one day last week expressed surprise at being arrested. They said: "We thought President Bush said it is OK to go to the USA". GW has made a BIG mistake. I hope he comes to his senses and sets this thing right asap.

I don't think there's a chance Bush will change his mind. America is in a freefall, we're not sliding anymore!

I am very much afraid you are right, and that the negative results will show too soon (before the election), and GW will follow HW into history, beaten by an antiAmerican DemoRat pervert shill.
