What makes Turkey different, is the Western-style secularism...that's what Muslim extremists are fighting, the spread of Western secularism leading to more Muslims countries like Turkey. Yes. Secularism. The state of affairs where the people, although technically Muslim, no longer really care much about Islam, are not interested in living according to Sharia law, and have no interest in taking part in Jihaad.
In other words, no longer Muslims in anything but name
You just made my point. Thank you.

You're turning into a bozo as well, aren't you?
Secularism like Christians have embraced secularism, meaning the Church is no longer the ruling entity in their lives, or as you would say, no longer Christians in anything but name...which would encompass most of the West.
Now, you go and convince all the millions of Muslims living in Turkey that they are no longer Muslims.
Secularism meaning reaching a state where the government is secular, and religion is private.
Here's a clue...you cannot define someone else's religion, any more than someone else can define yours.
