Are you attending your county precinct meeting?
Will you sign up to attend your state convention as a delegate?
Will you debate and vote on the party platform at those events?
Do you actively work from inside the party to bring it back to relevance, or do you only complain from outside?
We could retrieve our party from it's liberal drift very quickly, if enough hard line constitutional conservatives would only turn out at all party functions.
Sadly too many of us seem to be much better at outrage AFTER the fact, than at preventing it ahead of time with personal involvement.
The election starts at the precinct level, almost immediately!
There is still time, barely, to get involved in THIS election.

We're too busy jump-starting the economy. Someone has to do the job, and most liberals won't lower themselves to doing this kind of work. Sorry.

I've done some work for conservatism in the real-world, though probably not enough, something I blame in part on living overseas often, as well as living in Wash DC.
Excuses aside, I'm attending the Feb. 10 DC Pubbie Presidential Caucus, though I still haven't found out what opportunity, if any, there will be to speak, or whether any non-GWB votes will be tallied.

Are you attending your county precinct meeting?"I'm holding our precinct meeting. We will pass a VERY Conservative set of planks. These will then go on to the county, and then the state. Each will also pass a VERY conservative platform. Then at the national Convention, an equally Conservative platform will emerge.
And then do you know what happens? That's the last you'll hear of it for the next four years. The Republicans elected will totally ignore the platforms and do as they darned well please.
I have been a Republican PC for over 40 years, and I've yet to see the Republicans abide by, live by and/or fight for the principles that the grass roots wanted. The politicians get back to Washington and from then on, they get their marching orders from the national party, the lobbyests, and the biggest donors, and the rest of us are expected to be good little sheeple, shut up, and work hard to put get them reelected when the time comes. Am I cynical? You bet I am!
