Please don't let your disdain for Krugman and other liberal sh*theads obscure the fact that the main point of the article is valid, i.e. these computerized voting systems that don't have verifiable audit trails are begging for fraud. There's too much temptation for pubbies and rats. Whatever party that loses will feel cheated.

I don't see the harm in creating an auditable paper record as a protection against voter fraud (by either side). That is how the Dems stayed in power for years "creating" paper records for dead people and duplicate voters voting under someone else's name.

Thank you. FYI, Michigan will have ballots in the rat primary via the Internet as well as "traditional"? polling place, with absentee alternative.

find myself agreeing with Krugman in this point: a paper trail is critical, in my mind. However, that is not enough -- there needs to be a fool-proof ID system in place, at least as good as used for credit-cards.BTTT!

The RATs already have scads of loony hackers ready to try and tamper remotely with the electronic voting machines tabulations. So you're saying we don't want any way to bust them? You will just accept that RAT fait-accomplice?!

You will just accept that RAT fait-accomplice?!So you're saying... No you are saying, I stated fact. The Rats have been crooks and traitors to this country for years. Unless you are willing to be a Poll watcher, you aren't part of the solution, Paper trails have been abused for years, electronic methods too will be, Good old honest poll watchers may be the only solution. If a corrupt political machine in charge of the election process wants to manipulate it...They will.
Witness the dangling chad fiasco in Florida.
To: DeathfromBelow
Slightly off topic, but I lived in Florida last prez. election, and I was pregnant. And I had already decided to name my son Chad (before the hanging chads and pregnant chads I was pregnant with Chad) so I will never forget that one.

Personally, with a POS like Krugman, I haven't got time to find some 'pepper' in his column of 'fly fecal matter'.
Support his premise if you will, but not in my LZ.

Support his premise if you will, but not in my LZ. To each his own, but since I can't type, I thought it was more important to examine ideas than to denouce the NY Times, and especially, its well known liberal POS writers.
BTW, Bill Safire and David Brooks are the Times' token right wing Op-Ed writers, and they're usually very good. The number of times that I could suffer through a whole Krugman column I can count on my fingers.
