Since the goal here is to survive as a nation rather than to rush the latest news of current events to the talking heads to chatter endlessly over and satisfy our itchy ears, we have to develop new skills for reading between the lines. Even so, I believe the leaders are well-aware of the roles which hope and despairing rumors play in the lives of civilians during this war. If they need a few weeks to interrogate the bastard infidel in secret, then so be it.
