I think Bush needs to get in touch with his base, but maybe those disillusioned with the administration are a small minority of malcontents, as you and many on the forum seem to think.

They are an insignificant, but vociferous little swarm of so-called "true" conservatives. Trouble is, each has his own criteria of what comprises a "true" conservative.

Ninety-one percent (91%) of Republican voters, support the re-election of POTUS.

And the numbers are static. They are fevers searching for the "uber-conservative" savior. They care not where he comes from and they ALWAYS pick the one with the least chance of wining. There is a segment in this country that just feels more comfortable sniping from the sidelines rather than actually getting their jerseys dirty on the field. They have no reason for existence beyond complaining and spouting slogans that they know will never be tested in the real world. They love being on the outside and the LAST thing they want is to win because if they did win they would have to accomplish something. They hide utter contempt for those that actually fight the battles behind their “principles” when in fact their ONLY “principle” is to remain on the outside shooting in.
