Dog, I'm trying to read all the names you have. Each time I get the distinct question coming across my mind. "Pat, Can I buy a vowel?"

Now that I've had my laugh.......remember, these are names transcribed into our alphabet. The person translating or transcribing is going for a "sound" in our alphabet. This is a problem for INS, CIA, Homeland Security, etc. Words and names can be spelled differently by individuals trying to use our alphabet. A word or name may be spelled with "oo" one time and then "u" another time. Or another word may be spelled ending in "id" sometimes, and then "ed" . And the same person may spell it differently themselves from one time to the next. It's tricky. And makes for some serious problems in trying to identify the right person from the spelling of their name, for instance.
