Well Wolfstar (and other posters) .. , I have read your "article".. and I have read most of the posts. There are the regulars and a few "new ones" at least to me.. posting.

Most of us have our set opinions on GWB and the direction the country is taking under his leadership.

Various threads I note have repitition of the same issue, points of view. Not sure any of us will change anyone's mind ....

I like to think I am open minded.(maybe a relative term?) I am conservative. But that is also relative term. I am also considered white (another relative term)...and tall for a woman (another relative term)and a spiritual person (yup, you know what goes here too).

We are all different here. Why would we expect each other to completely agree with us on every issue .. we get along best with those that think like us, that is life in general.

Well, I am open minded but I also am a "big picture " person. The big picture is who can win? what can be accomplished with supporting of a given candidate? I personally refuse to WASTE my vote on someone who doesn't have a dog's chance .. I might as well write in my or my DOG'S name as support a party/candidate who wont have a chance. It will just dilute the chance of someone else.Better to stay home & smash my hand in the door a few times.

so the obvious thought might be ... If you NAYSAYERS are SO very much against GWB , consider that to just defeat GWB & take a (HORROR OF HORROR) chance that someone like Dean might get elected, is scary. You scare me by not really thinking this through.

Great Post Wolfstar

Consider that some of us don't like socialism, be it Republican socialism or Democrat socialism. Some of us have come to the conclusion that with divided govt, there will be less socialism passed into law and with the congress firmly in the hands of the Republicrats, that a Dem prez may actually be preferable to a Rep socialist one. Some of us believe that if socialism from the Republicrats is not repudiated, then we will truly have a 1 party system. Bush had an opportunity to throw a big piece of red meat to the right wing last night. He didn't and now there is no reason for the right wing to vote for him. I did not vote for him last time and I won't this time. He is really no different then his daddy.
