Oh yes...the Bush/Cheney Base is losing ground for sure.

Here is a live post from CPAC by Rabid Dog:

Checking in with a live report. This place is crazy! Thousands of people - all wearing conservative buttons, Bush-Cheney stickers, lots of red - it is a beautiful thing!

Cheney goes on in an hour - hundreds of people are all ready lined up to get in. The really great news is a lot of them are college kids and boy are they excited. We were cleared out of the lecture hall at 12:00 so that the security team could do what ever they need to do for the next two hours. All but one elevator has been shut down as well.

Sat next to a guy that went to the first CPAC - said it was about 400 people and no elected official wanted to participate (too chicken). Now there are 4,000 and elected officials are proud to be part of the program.

There are more sponsors this year than ever before. We even have the ominous presence of the ACLU. Lots of TV cameras, reporters from the Washington Times, etc.

Reporters were asking questions about how conservatives feel about the spending that is going on - I think this is going to be the hot button against Bush. Haven't heard anything yet on immigration.
More later.....

President Bush enjoys the highest approval rating of any president at this point in his term since Dwight David Eisenhower in 1956.

There was a poll mentioned in one of Hill type sheets that indicated that some 62% of the voters between 18 and 29 were supporting President Bush.... No democrat has ever one the Presidency without winning that segment of voters it said.....

I didn't mark it for future references, I should have.... Dynamics of the the elections are changing and those holding onto the past will find themselved doomed to failure. You have to deal with what is the present
