 The whole idea seems ludicrous somehow, for people to move somewhere for the sole purpose of imposing their toleration of evils which they claim to not have any personal interest in. "You know, I'm personally not involved in the manufacture or use of crystal meth, and am opposed to it, but I will sell everything I own and move 2,000 miles away for the sole purpose of moving next door to someone who does so that I can impose my toleration upon him. I'll sit on my porch overlooking his land with its meth still, and at all the traffic coming and going, and at all the environmental damage, and all the health and lives being ruined, and I'll wave and smile at them. It feels good, knowing that they wave and smile at me, too, as I go to church on Sundays and to the bingo game on Wednesdays." |
